Can you see me now?

Then you can thank this protein for not aggregating in your eyes.

Jim Hebda, a new faculty member at Austin College led off the 23rd Annual Texas Protein Folding and Function meeting by talking about how alpha crystallin can form different oligomeric forms. Jim and his students used FRET and smFRET to examine subunit exchange.

2015 Keynote Speakers

Dr. Michael Rosen, the Chair of the Department of Biophysics at UT Southwestern and an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, is confirmed to speak at the 2015 Texas Protein Folders and Function meeting.

The Rosen Lab studies the physical mechanisms of actin regulation to understand both the structure and dynamics of individual pathway components and also how and why those components are organized into micron-scale cellular assemblies.

Dr. Angel E. Garcia,  Department Head of department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy, Professor of Physics; Senior Constellation Chaired Professor in Biocomputation and Bioinformatics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, is confirmed to speak at the 2015 Texas Protein Folders and Function meeting.

The Garcia lab studies theoretical and computational aspects of the structure, dynamics and stability of biological molecules.
